Comment:
Sundance is purportedly taking the Carville line---Carville said basically for the Democrats to save their craziness until after the election. Then they would say "eat my dust".
Such as strategy could work in theory, but there's no guarantees of anything.
Back in 1980, in the Carter v Reagan election, Reagan responded to Carter's democrat trickiness with "there you go again". The trickiness is the attribution to Reagan an intent that he didn't have. So, it isn't any new strategy. In fact, they're already doing it with this Nazi stuff. Trump is no Nazi. They do this against all GOP opponents. It's as stale a strategy as is the smoke and mirrors policies that the Dems love to throw out there.
To beat them, the GOP needs to stick closely to the Reagan strategy. Don't buy into the hate. Reagan just gave a smile. Don't let them lie about you, as Carter tried in the debate. Reagan just said, "there you go again". If you get into the mud with them, they'll love it. Just say, it's "morning in America", and it'll be the Democrats that get smoked.
It isn't just some empty slogan, either. Things got much better under Reagan. By fall, conditions ought to be good enough to run on, and say what Reagan said---it's morning in America again.
The Dems need misery. Don't add to it. Dems need disarray. Don't add to it any more than what is already there. And be able to show that the disarray is slipping into the past. That's because it is TRUE. If we bring back the Democrats; it may be Happy Days Are Here Again for THEM, but not for America.
The Dems are about themselves and only themselves. Why join them? Win another for the Gipper.

Bose Einstein Condensates and the E-cat
6/26/26: Update:
Well, here's another blast from the past. Yours truly used to follow this, and I stopped following it. Therefore, I cannot offer any new thoughts on the subject.
But it is an old story. Not to be discrediting it for being old. Shoot, I'm old. What wrong with old? Sometimes "old" can be a cool thing. Like Cool Hand Luke. Luke said that sometimes nothing can be a pretty cool hand. If you think old means "nothing", but nothing can still be cool.
I reacted to this post because of one of the knocks against cold fusion back in the day. It went against all of what was known in nuclear physics. As if nothing new could be learned. The world is full of jackasses. As for me, I try not to exceed the limits of jackassery.
A thing is or it isn't. Cold fusion got discredited, and probably not for fair nor honest reasons.
It's worth investigating why there seemed to be these anomalous results from experiments. Instead it was discredited because of conventional wisdom that isn't exactly wisdom in my book. So there.
The original post of 7/18/2011 follows below:
Somebody else responded to my question to Andrea Rossi besides Rossi himself. It was the observation that these condensates form at very low temperatures. However, a little digging shows that it can be predicted that these condensates can form at very high temperatures too. I cite the source here:
I found the link to this from the Wikipedia entry on Bose Einstein condensates, footnote number 10. There is more to this, but I have shortened it because of a lack of time. It should be easy enough to follow, though.
Update:
As I wrote before, the topic here is way above my pay scale, so I think I'll let it drop at this point. It is interesting reading to a certain extent, but without the formal education to fully understand it, I feel a bit confused sometimes when I read this stuff.
I've been spending the last few hours reading over such topics as "spin" and "anti parallel" and so forth. As best as I can determine, the theory offered to explain the e-cat's low energy nuclear reaction seems plausible. I'd rather not go much further than that. That belongs in a discussion elsewhere.
Update:
Here's some information on Yeong E. Kim. I'd say it looks pretty impressive.

It has been predicted that a quasi-equilibrium system of bosons could undergo Bose-Einstein condensation even at relatively high temperatures, if the flow rate of energy pumped into the system exceeds a critical value.

Culinary type post
6/26/26:
Lot of Word Crimes here, eh?
Maybe food crimes, too... Now, the idea about cooking with the fewest calories is indeed an idea worth considering...
Update a little later...:
I've watched a few gourmets on TeeVee. Here's a video of one that you may enjoy: Justin Wilson. If Louisiana fare is not your thing, well I have another one I watched on PBS: (PBS! Yep.). He went by the moniker of Frugal Gourmet. If were to do gourmet videos, I'd make one thing plain. I'm no gourmet. The name? The Lazy Man "Gourmet". I cook for convenience. It may not be fine cuisine, but it is good enough to eat. Not trying to put on airs here. Just telling it the way it is.
May 3, 2018:
Fancy word for cooking, that is.
Been experimenting with my cooking lately. Yesterday, I boiled an egg in water. So what? Well, the egg was cracked and out of the shell. It was boiled in water, which is no calories. The problem with this cooking technique was that the egg stuck on the aluminum foil. So, I got some Pam, and sprayed it on the aluminum this morning. Yep. It worked good. How was the boiled eggs? Well, they tasted like, ahem, boiled eggs.
I don't know if that counts as a success. What was the objective? To cook without oil, and to use as little energy as possible. This latter part was achieved by cooking on the lowest possible setting on the propane stove. A small amount of water did reach boiling point, provided that, you cover the top with foil as well. This traps all the heat, and allows boiling point to be reached.
The eggs were on for about twenty minutes. They were fully cooked.
Eggs like this are pretty bland. How do you fix them up to taste better? I like cheese on my eggs, so the next time, I will add sharp cheddar to it.
Add some bacon bits, and maybe some tomato, and that's good eating. At least it is by my standards.

Islamic communists took over the Democrat party
The commies are running on hatred for Trump, and nothing more. The left teaches hate, but projects their hate on the opposition. This is the kind of projection that Hitler used as a pretext to invade Poland in 1939. Hitler claimed that Poland was going to attack Germany. The commies say that the GOP wants to put people back into chains. The thing that makes it psychopathic kind of projection is that the left wants to put people in chains and knows very well that this is not the intention of the GOP. In other words, a damned lie.
Furthermore, the opposite ends of the "political spectrum" is not between the right v left. The only difference between communists and fascists is that the communists are globalists and the fascists are nationalist.
By the way, if nationalism defines fascism, then there could be no more countries anywhere. So what's the difference between the commies and the fascists? Nothing. In the end, it is only about power.
The real political spectrum is freedom vs tyranny. There is no freedom in fascism nor communism. The choice is clear.
Normie libs were so obsessed with “getting” Trump that they let their party get taken over by Islamic communists.

Have to call BS again
So I see this CFP link to a bullshit push poll from CBS
How many times will people be fooled by the bullshit media???
The "war" was a slaughter. It has been more ceasefire than war. The bullshit media wants to make an issue out of Trump's military strike against Iran.
If the poll is accurate, which it may not be, it is a damned shame that so many people listen to and let themselves be influenced by a bunch of commie bastard media types.
It is not in anybody's interests except the globalists, for Iran to have the bomb. Trump has mostly solved that problem, but we aren't out of the woods yet.
Thanks to crap like this, we may yet get a bad outcome.

The Shining Final Maze Scene -- Danny escapes from Jack
Some folks find this flick to be scary. It's not scary to me, but it is an unpleasant movie.
The following scene came to mind this morning. When a movie is being made, the idea is to make it believable. If it isn't believable, the movie isn't as good. Well, this scene just isn't believable to me.
To recap the scene briefly, the little boy's dad has gone insane. He's attempting to murder his family. The madman chases his son into the maze, but the little boy escapes. Frankly, I don't buy the scene. The kid isn't going to outwit his father.
I've seen the Steven King's version of this movie. Neither of them are very good in my opinion. Kubrick's magic didn't work in this flick.

Messala death scene, Ben Hur (1959)
6/24/26:
There's nothing new under ths sun after all. The same old tricks, the same old results.
Politics is sustained with hate, it seems. No solutions will be obtained from there. This is the direction we are headed for, unless the arc of history changes. There will be trouble ahead, and it is because of pursuit of hatred for its own sake. That's the point of the movie. A point like that goes over the heads of those who will never listen.
Oct 21, 2024:
There was something on the web that I just saw that reminded me of this. I won't link to it. It made me think that there really are people that want to make you hate them. I keep seeing that this affinity for hatred, and wonder what is driving it.
It's a trap. That seems to be the message of that entire film. Messala wanted Ben Hur to hate him. Here's the scene in the flick. The author of the book upon which the movie was based, was a Civil War vet.

A personal post
6/23/26:
It is easy to be hard on folks. It says in the New Testament to be forgiving. Maybe 70 times 7, or something like that. Obviously, I can be unforgiving at times.
With all due respect for the rights of those with whom I disagree, I say that you are totally full of shit. But I forgive you for it.
Of course, it is not unknown for me to be totally full of shit too. So that makes us even.
12/16/16:
After that last post, which was very unsympathetic to the lefties, I now write a post that some may think as an appeal for sympathy.
Those who disagree with me may read it with pleasured scorn. They might well be glad to hear that I am having troubles.
Troubles indeed! The worse trouble in this world that a man can have. A matter of life and death itself. All the while, not having any monetary means by which to meet that challenge.
A lot of lefties are quite rich, you know. They could help, but would they?
Would I even bother to ask?
Ask for what? Well, I would like to get my biopsy done at MD Anderson in Houston. The doctor there is highly recommended, but need I 26.5k bucks to get a consultation, which is money I do not have. By the way, that money does not pay for the biopsy itself. You can see that this will run into quite a bill.
I may have other options, but this one is preferred.
I would accept help from most quarters. But if the price is too high, I will choose another option.

Depends upon who you listen to.
Here's what the Max Afterburner YouTube channel has to say about it:

Hostile takeover of the American mind
6/22/26:
This is fairly well-written, which surprises me a bit. Did I really write this?
Almost everything these days is suspicious. Perhaps I was more capable in 2012 than now. Nevertheless, it is a good summarization of what has happened. Furthermore, most events are most likely manufactured. Historical events, such as the Great Depression, World War II, recessions, "pandemics", and the like. The ordinary folks are like sheep being herded into pens. What could the ultimate end game for these manipulations? That's why I'm suspicious of everything, including this post, supposedly written by me.
People are like children. They believe what they are told by the "betters". This is true until the kiddoes grow up. Then there's a rebellion. What form will the rebellion take? The permanent and hopelessly naive but dangerous commies, or will the traditional American entrepreneurial Republicans re-assert themselves?
Perhaps the "rebellion" is also a manufactured event? How are these events manufactured? The Federal Reserve Bank can create recessions in order to "stop inflation". The Federal Reserve Bank can create inflationary spirals, which make it necessary to create a recession. These events are accomplished through monetary policy. The sheep demand change, but the sheep are just being herded into the next pen.
Likewise, the "pandemic" is manufactured through the biological lab. It is hyped as a pandemic in order to force out the "rebellion" of one Donald J. Trump. Once removed and discredited, the hostile takeover will have no meaningful oppositon. That's been the pattern for the last century.
As of 2026, the Trump Era is coming to an end. No way Trump can continue as President from a legal standpoint. The loose talk of a third term won't maintain the credibility that the Constitution actually means anything anymore. So Trump will have to step down in 2029. Or if earlier, forced out. Then the takeover can be completed. The left will pack the courts, rig the elections forever, and enforce their will upon the public that cannot be broken without violence. Such was the necessity with King George III of England.
What does the future hold? Down to the anthill of totalitarianism, or up to the ultimate in freedom consistent with order in a civilized society. Reagan said something like that in his famous speech that launched his political career. Reagan was saying that the "political spectrum" is a fake. The opposites are not right against left, but freedom against tyranny. Will freedom last, or will the usual history of suffering mankind be repeated? And so it goes...
2/21/12: The original post follows below:
That's a rather bold statement as a title. To back it up, consider this:
The Republican party is not much help. They like the money too and get corrupted by it. They end up corrupting the people and help the Democrats toward entrenching this kleptocracy until it will become an unstoppable tyranny.

2/21/12: The original post follows below:
That's a rather bold statement as a title. To back it up, consider this:
- 9th Circuit overturns CA ban on gay marriage: This has happened many times. The voters of California have attempted to assert their will, only to be thwarted by the courts.
- Obama Stimulus Turns Three: What Has It Achieved?: We are told constantly that the economy is improving, but by many measures, it has gotten worse. Why the disconnect between reality and what is being reported? The propaganda of the so-called mainstream media is geared toward helping Democrats, not towards honest reporting. The public doesn't get the truth, and the Democrats are not held accountable.
- Obama amasses $240M warchest: Big money is dominating our politics. But the Democrats, who complain the loudest about this, are the ones who benefit the most. The most "electable" Republican, Romney, also has the deepest pockets. All of the money goes into their campaigns that do not enlighten nor inform the public. Elections are being bought. People are not being persuaded, but herded.
- Public Sector Unions: They have a vested interest in growing the government. It supplies them with jobs and political power. They are big contributors to Democrat causes, which are not necessarily compatible with public opinion, but with their own special interest. These used to be illegal, but are now dominating states like California. Attempts to rein them in are furiously opposed, as can be observed in Wisconsin.
- Jewish Community Should Join Catholics Against the Mandate: The Democrats are hostile towards religion, except their own version of secularism. On the one hand, they pretend to be in favor of the separation of church and state, but on the other, they try to separate people from their faiths. Then, they indoctrinate young people into their own beliefs while these young people attend the public school system. The separation of church and state morphs into a separation of churches from the people and the establishment of a state religion.
- Update: I found another example: Campaign against Canadian Keystone XL pipeline driven by US foundation millions ---- quote: "Concerns about that lack of transparency found their vent on Feb. 9 when Brian Jean, a Conservative member of the Canadian Parliament, called for legislation to ban deep-pocketed foreigners from bankrolling what he called Canada’s “radical” green movement."
The Republican party is not much help. They like the money too and get corrupted by it. They end up corrupting the people and help the Democrats toward entrenching this kleptocracy until it will become an unstoppable tyranny.

John Wayne: "True Grit" Shootout Scene
One against four isn't a fair fight indeed. There was this dude during the Antebellum Period, who was an abolitionist. His name was Cassius Clay. It was said that he got in a fight with four, and held up his end.
Does anyone believe that?
Sure. There are Generals in past wars who won their battles when there's no way they should've. There was a post here about how Caesar beat the Gauls. No way Caesar should've won that, but he did. So, yeah. I think it could be done. Odds are against anyone who tries it, though.

Trump is like the stern, strict Daddy figure. The long time "allies" want an Uncle Sugar Daddy.
These spoiled types need to friggin' grow the hell up.

Every time that I need to lose weight, I cut the sugar. Works every time. This time, I've lost 20 lbs so far. Trouble is keeping away from the sugar. Eventually I'll go back to it. Those days are over this time. Can't do the sugar thing anymore.
GOP leadership has Stockholm Syndrome
6/21/26:
The video that accompanied this post doesn't appear to be working. Before attending to that, let Grokipedia define what Stockholm Syndrome actually is. Read the link above.^^^^^ Note: Now I will go to Rumble and see if they've got something on video there, for those who aren't into reading...
Ok, back again. Replaced the youtube video with the rumble video. Alex Jones on InfoWars has something. Ok, I'll vet that... Another break to do that... A short and sweet comment is appended as an update immediately below:
The opposition to Trump from REPUBLICANS is truly breathtaking to observe. It's like the GOP has a death wish. So the renewed interest in this topic, which is BRAINWASHING.
The most vivid example in my recollection was the Patty Hearst trial. Stockholm Syndrome was her defense, and the defense failed. It may be hard for the ordinary person to accept that this is a real thing. As a matter of fact, this entire country may be like the battered wife that is continually abused from the folks running things in DC, the media, and academia.,,,,,,,
12/11/12: The original post with the mentioned revision follows...
It is inevitable. Since leadership is determined by seniority, it is inevitable that these politicians that stay long enough in DC start to act like a typical DC insider. They've been captured and brain washed like a battered wife. No wonder they aren't distinguishable from the Democrats.
NOTE: THE REPLACEMENT VIDEO BELOW: Comment: Whatever sins that Alex Jones may have committed may almost forgiven for this rather extraodinary video. I've watched about 9 minutes of the 14 minutes, and he right on target. Hubba, hubba!

Things appear to be breaking down
6/21/26:
Fourteen years ago, this very day, Romney was talking about attacking Iran. He said it on the campaign trail for the office of President of the United States. (See the links below.) How interesting. Trump is acting the way Romney said he would've acted. But Romney opposed Trump when Trump won the Presidency.
How do you figure politics? You probably don't. It isn't about principle. It's most likely about money and power.
As for my own opinion on the matter, I wrote that the time for military action had passed. Not that I wouldn't have welcomed a bloody nose for the mullahs; but that the public is too fickle to support any meaningful action. That's the way I have felt about using the military the whole time. It hasn't changed. During Bush's tenure in the White House, I had this bad feeling about his decision to take out Saddam Hussein. Sure as the sunrise, the left got the public to turn against the President. This kind of thing is what brought in the leftists, like Obama.
So far, Trump has kept it short. There are those who'd like to make it last longer. The longer it lasts, the longer the lefties have to propagandize the public about it. If that happens, history will repeat.

There's a pattern I try to discern amongst my web visitations, and then I blog about it here. The article that got me thinking along the lines of disintegration is this one from Instapundit. If you follow the links and think about it, the entire World Wide Web as we know it could be at risk.
In its turn, the World Wide Web, or internet, has been quite destructive to the old bricks and mortar way. Now the web itself could be in danger. The web relies upon free content. If the advertisers can't monetize visitations, there can be no business basis. If there's no basis for business, the economics cannot be supported.
That would be quite a pickle, since the web itself has been so destructive. What replaces the web if it goes under? There's nothing left.
I think this could be a metaphor for the entire society. Everywhere you look, it seems, there's this disintegration.
The business about Holder and executive privilege is another example. It's all about the rule of law, but this government is acting more and more alienated to that regime, and a new vicious one could be replacing it. That regime would be called the rule of men. The same accusation that brought down the Nixon administration.
The difference then was an infrastructure that could support the rule of law. What happens if that has disappeared, or is no longer possible for some reason? Like the rest of society breaking down, for instance? The economic basis for a civilized society is losing its foundation. The Federal Reserve prints money to support an economy that produces little, but a lot debt. But how does the debt get paid back? It doesn't, that's the whole point.
Not everything that supports a civilization is reliant upon the use of force. You have to have a morality that governs individual behavior. If that breaks down too, the result must be chaos. The only way to restore order is to use an extraordinary amount of force. That brings you back to the rule of men as opposed to the rule of law.
People have also lost their sense of reality. If you can't discern the truth, and won't listen to reason, what can anchor you? Yet that is the way people tend to be acting. It is madness. It is the very definition of madness.
Something has to bring us back to center. First principles should be recognized-- the rule of law must be one of those. Also, there's no such thing as a free lunch. Debts must be paid. Income must be earned to pay those debts.
Hopefully the way will be found before things get so lost that getting back may be impossible.
Update:
The madness isn't entirely coming from the left. I saw something on the net that said Romney may attack Iran if he becomes president.
That's even more nuts than what Obama is doing. The opportunity for military action of this type has passed.
