QAnon

QAnon

Expanding upon what I wrote yesterday, with respect to Democrat voters being concerned about Trump supporters, as opposed to actual ISSUES, I continue with a bit about this phenonmenon known as "Q".

My own personal observation of them is that it appeared to be mostly offbeat and not to be taken completely seriously. I didn't, so that is why I was dumbfounded to learn that so many on the Democrat side have an alarmed view of them. All that I ever saw was stuff that you can find on more mainstream sources like Bongino.

If you think Bongino is like "Q", then I don't know what to tell you.

As for what Wikipedia wrote, it is off-the-charts gonzo. I'm not talking about "Q" being gonzo, I am talking Wikipedia. None of their stuff really checks out. Or it is unnecessarily difficult to track down all their footnotes. It's garbage as I best I can tell.

If the New York Times can report that Officer Sicknick was killed by a fire extinguisher being smashed against his head, then these guys cannot talk credibly about anybody else's "conspiracy theories". The New York Times retracted that story. By the way, Sicknick's autopsy reports---where are they? It is written up as a mystery as to what he died of. Really? They don't KNOW???

By the way, we still don't know who shot Ashli Babbit. https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/2021/01/08/ashli-babbitt-shooting-video-capitol/

Democrat voters really need to examine their own sources of information. Only then will they be able to sort through what's true and what isn't. If they are concerned about "Q", they are making their decisions based upon faulty information, if the Wikipedia can be any indication. Actually, most of the Media is off-the-charts loony from what I can tell.

This post was meant to discuss QAnon, but there isn't much out there to write about. What does exist is just assertion with little actual factual information to back it up. That appears to be the normal thing today. If you want any serious discussion of anything the last place you would go would be the media.

CTH via conservapedia yielded a lengthy article warning about what was being written about Q.

Update:

It should be obvious that I haven't followed the QAnon controversy. Unfortunately for the GOP, there seems to be many who allow themselves to be used to promote this garbage.

I did a non-google search on Representative Liz Cheney, who said something to the effect that the GOP is not the party of QAnon. As if it was!

What it appears to be is a straw-man argument, in which the create this straw-man, QAnon, who is then attacked as a dangerous influence.

One article on National Review, which is supposedly conservative, but is not really anymore, mentioned a question posed to Trump. The question was prejudicial in the extreme, and Trump didn't condemn the group---according to NR.

This is how it happens. The reporter created the straw-man question, to which Trump said, "I didn't hear that", and then it gets echoed in so-called "conservative" outlets like NR. Trump didn't endorse nor condemn. He basically said that he didn't know anything about the group, or what the reporter was saying about the group.

You could criticize Trump a bit for not being concise with his answers. They plastered this all on him, but Trump was not endorsing nor condemning the group. That should have been how NR reported it. But they didn't. Instead they glom on the reporters' characterization about the group as if it were FACTUAL, and Trump isn't condemning it.

The problem here is that the GOP and the Establishment wing won't fight back harder against this kind of thing, but instead JOINS IN. Or appears to.

If all you had to go on was what that reporter asked, then why would Trump ENDORSE it? After all, that is the impression that they are trying to create with the straw- man argument.

The straw-man argument is what should be addressed here, not whether or not Trump has some QAnon supporters and what that means. The media cannot even support what they are saying from what research that I've done. They just make these claims, and then demand that you respond to them as if they are FACTUAL.

The GOP types like Cheney are being dishonest or stupid. That's no way to lead a party.

Shame on Liz Cheney

About some so-called right wing groups

About some so-called right wing groups

Ann Coulter has a column up about the Proud Boys. Who are these "Proud Boys"? It might be well to look into that. If you go to the usual suspect sites, forget it. They'll rake the names over the coals, and it is totally one-sided.

Let them say who they are. On Gab, its says " I am a Western Chauvinist, and I refuse to apologize for creating the modern world." How you take it depends upon you. As for my reaction, I see them as an anti-dote to the massive guilt-tripping imposed upon those of us in our culture. The guilt-tripping is poisonous indeed.

But I am not a joiner. Not of Proud Boys or any other group.

Coulter relied upon them to protect her while she was in Berkley to make a speech. Without them, the speech wouldn't have happened. That says something.

Some Proud Boys were in the Capitol during the so-called Insurrection of January 6th. This is being used to criticize them, but it should be remembered that this entire event was mischaracterized and blown out of proportion. That's being very generous to the lefties out there. Maybe too generous. However, if the Proud Boys were in there, they made a mistake.

Those who describe groups like Proud Boys use the term "right" wing. I've written many times that those who use that term in reference to themselves are doing conservatism no favors. If I were to find fault, I would say that they should not associate themselves with certain kinds of language like that. With respect to Chauvinism, it is probably not a good idea to use that.

Besides the Proud Boys, I looked deeper with respect to the Oathkeepers. It seems that they were deplatformed. Their website says they were anyway, and so there isn't a lot on them. Their "About" page, they don't seem to be all that bad, so this may be just another over the top action by the left and Big Tech.

That is all for now.

Whatcha gonna do about me?

What about me song

Here's a protest song of the late sixties early seventies. Check out the lyrics and compare them to who's who today.

There was a poll mentioned today that listed the major concerns of Democrats. The thing that concerns them the most? Trump voters! What do they want to do with us? Put us all in jail? Re-program us? De-platform us? Marginalize us into the nether regions? Shoot us?

Whatcha gonna do about me--indeed. Looks like turnabout is upon us.

No excuses

No excuses

Morris' opinion sounds like excuses. If the Democrats threatened the Court, then why didn't they defy them anyway? To protect the institution? What good is the institution if it can be so easily intimidated? If the Dems made good their threat, it would have made it more obvious about what they are up to. Therefore, a strong stand is what was needed.

There were no excuses for this. The much heralded "conservative" majority is neither conservative, nor a majority. You could have gotten a ruling like this from a Hillary- appointed SCOTUS. They are totally useless and worthless.

Some folks are giving Alito, Thomas, and Gorsuch credit. They don't deserve any credit either because all they agreed to with regards to the Texas suit was that they would hear it, not grant any relief.

Utter and complete failures. A disgrace to themselves and to the country.

From the sublime to the ridiculous

From the sublime to the ridiculous

That is what the Supreme Court just did to the Trump Administration. They have just made him look ridiculous. How? Such a big deal was made out of the fact that Trump appointed THREE justices to the Court. But then they go and throw out his challenges to the 2020 election. The whole point of his 2016 has been thrown out with it.

What's the point? What's the point in supporting the GOP? They just made Trump look ridiculous for supporting THEM. What did he get for all his trouble but a big kick in the groin? Hmmm? What did he get for all his loyalty to the Party? THIS?!?

There is no point to the GOP now. They may as well not exist. Trump's victory in 2016 could have been a great moment, but they pissed it all away, and now they look like they may as well not exist for all they stand for. They are WORSE than the Democrats. Not that the Democrats are worth a shit, but the GOP is worse because they make it seem like they offer an alternative, but here was their big chance, and we get THIS.

Off-grid post 2-22-21

Texas has caught a lot of negative publicity with respect to the recent cold. Trust me, I've been living here all my life, as I'm in my mid sixties, I've never seen anything like this. How can you prepare for something that almost never happens?

Like a lot of people in this state, I wasn't ready for this. I thought I was, but nope.

The power went out only briefly. If otherwise, I would have had a problem. The problem was with the furnace. The trouble is, it didn't work like I expected it to. The problem seemed to be with the battery. Even though I would recharge it daily, it still didn't work for long. Evidently the cold was causing the battery to discharge very quickly.

That was part of the problem. The other part was maybe not a good enough battery. As of this writing, I haven't checked it out yet. But I substituted a better battery, or so I thought. It still didn't work worth a damn. So the problem remains a bit hidden.

One thing I noticed is that when it warmed up again, and the furnace only needed to be used sparingly, it worked fine. Evidently, the cold was complicating the problem that it already has.

Therefore, some ideas for improving upon the situation could be in order. I wouldn't want to press my luck again.

One idea is to bury the battery. This idea is like the idea I had previously to use a geothermal trick to aid in climate control. Go down a few feet, and it would never freeze. The battery should work better if it is sheltered a bit better.

But that may not work because of hydrogen gases accumulating. This one may take a bit of studying to come up with a better answer than what I have now. What I have now isn't adequate for this type of situation. This doesn't happen hardly at all around here, but you want to be ready for anything.

I do have a 2-cycle generator that may have helped. It wasn't set up though. Maybe that is all that is needed. A little boost to the generator to help the battery run the furnace. All you need there is to set the thing up, and keep a supply of gasoline in case it is needed. Since it is 2 cycle, I need an additive for the gas, but didn't have any.

A propane generator with remote control could be even better.
