The truth really is slower, this took 20 years

Clinton suborned perjury, which is a crime.  The truth is out, but Clinton is safe.

Hillary will say anything

For her to say this is just mind-boggling:

You have to hope that reality catches up with politics and entertainment at some point.

If she was a truthful person herself, this wouldn't be a problem.  But she lies every time she opens her mouth.

She talks out one side of her mouth, and then the other.  For her to be lecturing anybody on truth is just too much to take seriously.

Who said it: "A lie travels around the globe while the truth is putting on its shoes."

Quote is investigated in order to determine if it is from Mark Twain.

Johnathan Swift in 1710 wrote:

Falsehood flies, and the Truth comes limping after it; …

So the following should not be a surprise.  The truth is the harder way, as the lie is the faster of the two, as it does its damage before the truth can repair it.  It seems that Mark Twain was only repeating an old maxim.

I write this because I want the blog to be about truth, but the problem could be that the truth never wins!!!!

Damn.  I would hate that, if it were really true.  But if it is, then there should not be any surprise at the suffering in the world.  The truth has to win, or we are in heap big doo-doo kemosabe.

Was Chief Justice Roberts Blackmailed?

If he was, is he being blackmailed again?

A plausible theory is outlined at the link.

To summarize, the theory goes that Roberts could be impeached for bringing in Irish kids that would be illegal under Irish law.  Also, that Obama blackmailed him in order to uphold Obamacare.  He may have blackmailed him again in order to spy on Trump.  Roberts appointed FISA judges, you see.

Not sure how the Irish kids thing is illegal under US law, though.  But it may not matter, as any kind of scandal might force a resignation.  But is this really a scandal?

Anyway, I wouldn't doubt that that may be possible.  As for the spying thing, will we get to the bottom of that?  Don't bet on it.  I don't trust Lindsey Graham at all.  Graham would have to investigate it, and that guy is as big a squish as there is.  If the House had held up, Obama would have been at risk.

An open question

I was shown a video of this guy named Jordan Peterson, and someone asked him about uniting around "climate change"...

He says it cannot be done.  My reaction?  He may be right as far as the politics is concerned, but saying it cannot be done technically is not accurate.

The problem with "climate change" is the same as with everything else.  Solutions aren't wanted.  The politicians want the problem so that they can agitate the public with it.  If they actually solved problems, they wouldn't be politicians, they would be engineers.

We're letting the politicians wrap us around their little fingers.

The True Meaning of Thanksgiving

And I thought it was a holiday for gorging oneself on a lot of rich food.

Dern, was I wrong.

Anyway, another Thanksgiving, and another turkey bites the dust.

School choice helped DeSantis defeat Gollum

So says this article.

If "Blexit" failed, could it have been different?  If this article is correct, then the loss of the House may have been avoidable.

It may take things like this to turn things around, but we knew that already.  Pres. George W Bush ran on school choice, only to drop it like a hot potato within a few weeks of his inauguration.

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

Updated,
11.22.18:

What I forgot to mention is that people have been saying things have been  going downhill for a long time now.  When I was a kid, people were saying that.  Yet, things are holding up.  Maybe people are always saying that.  Hence, the more things change, the more it stays the same.

Once things really change, then that's it.  You may never be able to go back.  It is easy to downplay the doomsterism, but there may well be something to be worried about after all.

11.21.18:

In Google Translate, it says "what goes around comes around".  I was looking for the saying that the more it changes, the more that it stays the same.

Anyway, Limbaugh is talking about why he is "bullish on America".  He says kids are indoctrinated.  Guess what?  So were we back in the day.  I'm sure of it.  We sang patriotic songs.  The time that I grew up was the same as Limbaugh, which was the height of the Cold War.  We were indoctrinated into patriotism back in the sixties.

Does the indoctrination "stick"?  Evidently not.  Within a few years, the Vietnam War started to heat up, and the kids who went to school in those years were marching in the streets.  Anti-Establishment songs filled the airwaves.

The question can be turned on itself, and get us back to today.  Will this indoctrination that the left is giving the kids "stick"?  What makes it stick is how it is internalized.  Once it becomes a part of the ego, well, it just might stick.  What you believe in is what you believe in.  It is very difficult to change that.  But it can.

Keep in mind that things are always in motion.  What seems etched in stone can change in a few years.  Consider the 1920's.  Back then, it took only the first four years of the Great Depression in order to change our politics in a profound way.  America went from being about business to a point where capitalism was doubted.  That has stuck with us, and apparently has gotten even more entrenched.

Another thing that may be different today is these people seem to want to do away with the Constitution.  If that ever happens, it might be hard to get it back.  Not to mention a few other things that could happen which may be hard to reverse.  For instance, if the dollar is no longer the king of currencies, it may have a really bad effect on your standard of living.  One thing that might end this is if the US loses a big war.  In fact, a lot of bad things may happen if the US loses a big war.  What I am saying is that a lot of what is taken for granted can end tomorrow.

People need to be more thoughtful about what they are doing and saying.  What you lose you could regret for the rest of your life.

Vagina Monologues

This one did not interest me at all, so when I first came upon the news, I blew it all off, you might say.  But, I needed to go a little deeper, if you pardon the pun.

This morning is when I saw the light, that is to say, how hilarious this all is.  For some academic jackass said that, with respect to the Monologues, that not all women have one.

Hello??????  Anybody awake in there??????

Can anyone tell me where this country is coming to?  ( no pun intended )

Another perspective on the markets

From The Last Refuge blog

It is true that the massive amount of money tied up in the tech stocks could drag down the rest of the market for awhile.  However, this could just be a realignment of the market, which is what I was getting at before.

Kasich or Kasick?

'Cuz the dude is sick, cuz.

Kasich says America is losing its moral standing in the world.  So, Kasick and his crew of moral degenerates are going to restore "America's moral standing" in the world?

As usual with these people, the reality is upside down.  These guys are the reason the morality of this country has been sinking into the pits of hell.  It is a big, big joke for them to go about saying stupid crap like this.

The dude is delusional.  That's why he is sick.

Besides that, even if you were to think that what he says is reasonable, since when does the US government concern itself with morals?  I thought this country wasn't supposed to be a theocracy.

Relax, the markets are okay

There's a big to-do about the recent selling in the stock markets.  After looking at a few charts, there doesn't appear to be any problem---yet.

First, let's look at the Dow:

To be sure,  the trend is leveling off, but that is healthy.  Parabolic markets are a troublesome sign.  They could not go up forever.

Now, let's look at the yield curve.  The yield curve can give us an early warning of recession:

In 2016, the yield curve was at a much lower rate.  This was in agreement with sluggish growth.

The spread between the lowest and highest rate was about two percent.  This is indicative of an upswing, which did occur.  The yield curve is flattening, however.  It could mean trouble, but it is too early to tell.

Let's look at current conditions:

There is a much tighter spread between the short term and the long.  If they invert, that is indicative of a recession.  They are moving in that direction, but slowly.  It is not a big issue, yet. the tightening is along the longer term yields, like the 30 year.

In fact, the 1 year yield and later has been moving lower.  This indicates a lot of buying on the long end.  The selling in the stocks and the buying of the bonds would indicate the possibility of a slow down.  But there is no inversion.

An inversion means that the long term yield is lower than the short term.  This means a tight monetary policy.  Monetary policy has been tightening somewhat, but you should expect that in a robust economy.

Keep an eye on this.

Grim Reality Check

According to Selwyn Duke, the Democrats kept all of their usual voters.  So much for "Blexit".

Since the midterms had a turnout that exceeded the norm by large margins, this is not encouraging.  It is going to get worse, unless something changes.  But the change may be hard to bring about.

Witches Now Outnumber Presbyterians in America as Number of Pagans Soar to 1.5 MILLION

Free Republic

The article linked below should be convincing proof that witchcraft is bad.

Alinsky was a Satanist?

Kinda looks like it.  In a Playboy interview, he said the people who lack virtue are "my kind of people".

Hillary Clinton was a student of Alinsky.  There is plenty to be concerned about with regards to Hillary and that subject, too.

Lite posting, 11.19.18

It is an indication that something is up.

However, I cannot write about it now.  The trouble is that I don't know how to express it.

Let's just put it into terms ( for the moment ) that would track closely to the conventional wisdom.  The conventional wisdom may be something along the lines that Democrat control of the House is a good thing.  Of course, the Dems think so, but I am referring to those who tend to vote GOP.  Maybe the best example of this thinking is George Will.  Let's say that I don't agree with those who agree with George Will.  But it is more complex than that.  The George Will thing is just the tip of the iceberg.

It is possible that I could be wrong, but I don't think so.  Actually, that is what the blog was supposed to be about.  That is to say, what has gone wrong, and what could be done about it.
