Landing the Starship coming up soon
Could there be a problem in catching the Starship at the Tower, as was accomplished recently with the booster? There's been some talk about the possible damage to the heat shield. The chopsticks brush up against the side of the booster when catching. If the tiles get in the way, they'll be shorn off. That would delay processing the ship for fast turnaround. Is there another way?
Keeping it simple may be better than adding more complexity. Perhaps SpaceX could just land the ship at a concrete pad, as they did with the early prototypes. The method for doing this is pretty well practiced by now, and so there should be no problem. All that would be required for the ship would be some landing legs. The prototypes didn't use very big ones at all.
If stability is desired, perhaps the complexity can remain on the ground. Just add some stuff to the pad, and land it on the pad, with some sort of mechanism that would secure it rapidly.
SpaceX could even have the Starship land on one of their transport stands. The Starship could be moved quickly after landing, thus giving the quick turnaround time that they seek.
Perhaps even a portable flame diverter could keep the concrete from being split apart under the heat and pressure of the rocket exhaust.
But all this is speculative. There is no indication that SpaceX will do anything like this. However, the heat shield needs to be protected. At the very least, some different kind of method needs to be developed in order to catch the Starship.

Trump is basically calling Liz Cheney a "chicken hawk", which Bongino points out in his most recent video. Trump's only suggesting what she and her neo-con pals inflict upon the American soldiers on an all too often basis, without having to endure that THEMSELVES. That's all it is, but Kamala and Krew are ramping it up into a violent rhetoric smear. Bongino also mentioned that this is what the Democrats said about Pappa Cheney when her Daddy and Bush were in office. Funny how that works.
Bongino also said it was too late for messaging to work on the remaining undecideds, but maybe that's not what she's doing here. She's rallying her base, and getting them motivated enough to go out and vote. That may be the only way they can win, and it would depend upon the Trump base getting too cocky.
So don't get cocky. Get out there and vote against this. Kamala and her Krew cannot run on her own record. All she has is that she isn't Trump. That isn't necessarily the thing that matters to most people, who are worried about the economy and illegal immigration. Kamala cannot offer anything on those issues, and that's why she is doing things like this dodge.

Yep, and the previous months' numbers were revised down. So it will probably be revised down to a NEGATIVE print in the later revisions.
Definitely jobs lost in manufacturing. Most jobs that have been created have been part time jobs. The economy is not as good as they are saying. The jobs numbers are always inflated, and then revised down.

Secret vote for Senate Majority leader just 8 days after election. The idea is to hamstring Trump if there's a sweep. Victory in the Senate seems likely for the GOP. Here's the catch. You'd have to perfect and develop aneutronic fusion energy. Aneutronic fusion energy will dramatically increase the odds of success. One of Musk's big problems that has to be solved is energy. With aneutronic fusion, there will be little need for vast quantities of fuel.
Not to mention the fact that aneutronic fusion can lead to more advanced rocket engines that can do far more heavy lifting needed to make this dream a reality.
The catch may prove to be too hard, but there's a lot of people working on it already.
One of those people is Erick Lerner, and his Focus Fusion device. He is getting close to the make or break part of his experiments. If these experiments succeed, this catch will have been largely caught. The only fuel needed would be water and boron. Since these are readily available, and there's little to no radiation waste, there is little problem here if you can just get to net energy.
It may help Lerner if he had more funding. Perhaps Elon Musk could consider funding his research? Update: I guess I should disclose that I own one share on Focus Fusion's Gofundme page thing.

Indeed, even a private outfit like SpaceX has its problems when dealing with a government. They cannot do much of anything without the deadening hand of regulation being placed upon it.
In my opinion, a space colony will get built only if the government is kept as far from it as possible. Even then, it may be a hazardous undertaking even before it gets off the ground.
As best as I can figure, Elon Musk will get there if the government doesn't stop him first. But as for the success of the venture, I'm not too much more sure than this YouTuber is that it will ultimately succeed.
Nuclear thermal rocketry is mentioned. Unfortunately, this will have to be regulated by the government. No way this can be done privately. Indeed, that is the propostion of this video. The proposition is that a chemically powered rocket just won't be enough.
Nuclear power COULD come along, if the aneutronic fusion experiments are successful. In that case, nuclear power won't need so much regulation, as no bombs are possible with such a device, and nuclear waste is minimal.
The video doesn't mention aneutronic fusion. Aneutronic fusion means that no neutrons are produced, which means lower risk of destabilizing atoms and making them radioactive.
Incidentally, why are nuclear rockets better? It's the tyranny of the rocket equation. Indeed, the best chemical rockets are capable of ISP's of 400 to 450 seconds. An ISP is the measure of its efficiency. You have to carry along your own fuel, as there aren't any filling stations along the way.
An ISP of a fusion engine can be as high as a million. Quite the difference. By the way, the ISP is calculated as the effective velocity of the exhaust times the gravitation constant.
Nuclear thermal technology is mentioned in the video. A nuclear thermal engine will heat the exhaust to higher temperatures than a chemical reaction, thus resulting in a higher effective velocity. The rocket engines the video mentions were capable of about twice the ISP of the best chemical engines. About twice the effective velocity then.
For a fusion device, the effective velocity would be a significant fraction of the speed of light. That is how fast the particles fly off when they fuse.
Quite fascinating, yes? I'd agree with the authors that made the video, but the tech will probably not be nuclear, and Elon Musk's engines will have to be chemical for the near term at least.

Booster's fuel contamination problem and it's possible solutions

This one is really puzzling. You have to balance it off the fact that the booster was caught successfully on the first attempt. The use of carbon dioxide and water in order to pressurize the cryogenic booster tank makes no sense. Therefore, something here just cannot be. How can you do something that makes no sense at all, and then be successful? There's something wrong somewhere, but I cannot put my finger on it. So, I won't try any further. The results speak for themselves.

At cryogenic temperatures, these two substances are going to freeze up, as they're bound to do at nowhere near cryogenic temps. Somebody didn't have their thinking caps on, methinks. Much hardware had to be installed just to keep the ice out of the engine intakes. Sheesh.
