Weird Al parody song "Foil"

Not too bad. The reaction to it, or the song? Actually, I'd blog somebody else's reaction to the song as opposed to mine. Then I'll chime in and add that I think the song's not too bad. As for the reaction, I don't rate that. Let others do that.

This song was a parody of a song that I never heard of before called "Royals". The other song is pretty good in its own right. I don't refer to others for my opinion on this one.

Some debate analysis

Disastrous stretch for Biden in the debate. He opened himself up for Trump's attack on immigration. It was an abortion question! There's two instances of disaster: 1) the "beat Medicare" gaffe, and 2) this. There were probably others. But this one was especially bad because he took a strength and veered into a weakness that allowed his opponent to take advantage of it.

The plot thickens

Unless I'm misunderstanding, it looks like criminal behavior on the part of DOJ. Of course, the defenders of the DOJ will say that I'm wrong, or that Julie Kelly is wrong; but given the track record of this administration, I'd say it is rather easy to believe that they are the criminals, not Trump. ( how's that for a runon sentence?)

Starship update, 6/29/24

The first ten minutes of the Marcus House video is about Starship. Otherwise, it's about space news.

I got the impression that the test article sustained some damage. However, it might be repairable, so it could be rolled back for repairs and brought back for more testing.

Who won the Golf Debate?

8:18 PM

I'm sorry, but people are taking this stuff seriously, and I cannot. The "debate" as it was purported to be, was really fake. It was intended for other reasons than for the ones stated. Such is the situation that we now face. Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING, is what it is presented as being.

I've written about lying before. There was this one about the TED talk, in which the speaker said that lying is a cooperative act. Taking the "debate" seriously is participating in the lie. I refuse.

The debate was held before the nominating conventions. This gives them the excuse to dump Biden. Anybody can see the abnormality of the situation--- I mean really. A debate in JUNE? They've been lying through their teeth about his condition. Now they are supposed to be surprised. Nope, I'm not buying a bit of this.

What's next? Who knows? Maybe they need Biden to cooperate. And if he doesn't? He may meet an unfortunate end, and we'll be told that it was completely unexpected. I call it out in advance. It's bullshit.

It's all for democracy. Bullshit.

Site stats

Looks like Google isn't going to supply audience data anymore for this blog. If I want that information, I may have to pay for it. But I'm not sinking money into it, so if it's going away, so be it. This blog hasn't been much to crow about in terms of audience, and I'm sure not spending any money on it. That's all there is to it. So whatever happens will happen. The new Google policy goes into effect at the end of the month.

Fake debate

Everything is a fake. Now there is a fake debate.

CNN is going to delay the video of the debate long enough to edit it. They don't want anybody to see anything they don't want you to see. What a crock.

SpaceX Big ''Slap Testing'' On B14.1!

It seems like they might have missed something. I didn't see any "slap testing" in the video. It looked like they were checking one of the chopstick arms for something. Maybe they were checking the bouncing movements when it stops. The heavy arms have a lot of inertia, so stopping them suddenly will require a lot of energy. The rebound motion could be a concern, as the rocket needs a stable surface to land on.

Opposition to the jab was "ideological bullshit"

Note:  re-written with the use of Grammarly:

Consider the tweet below, comment

Talking about ideological issues, some people seem deeply entrenched in their beliefs. Even when faced with evidence, they refuse to accept it. It appears that they are committed to their own ideology, which they continue to believe despite evidence to the contrary. I recall Kamala Harris saying that she wouldn't have gotten the vaccine if Trump was President, which seems to be a case of ideological bias. Additionally, there have been instances of people falsely claiming to have received the vaccine.

I chose not to get the vaccine, and even if Trump had been President and had mandated it, I still would have refused. I was steadfast in my decision since I felt that the vaccine was being unjustly forced upon us. It turns out that the vaccine may not have been as safe or effective as claimed, as it was rushed into production without proper testing. Fear tactics were used to coerce people into getting vaccinated, and the vaccine was mandated against their will.

To compound the issue, large corporations were empowered to assist the government in enforcing the vaccine mandates. It seems that some individuals still believe the false narratives, as evidenced by the recent Supreme Court ruling allowing big corporations to censor speech on behalf of the government.

What has happened to this country?

Jesse Watters: Opss! FINALLY PUBLISHED, We Didn't Expect This!

The media and Joe Biden have been lying to us?! Who woulda thunk?! I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell you.

Seriously, Trump was impeached for trying to find this out. The credibility of the system is zero. Or should be. In a sane world, Brandon would be in JAIL. Or worse.

CTH: Goofy CNN interview pre-debate

7:55 AM

Fact is, why would the Trump campaign agree to do a "debate" with such antagonistic attitudes toward him? If Trump needs to point that out at this stage, it is hard to see what it would take to gain any points this way.

Nevertheless, it is interesting to note the tenor of this "interview". Trump's spokesbabe can't get a word in edgewise against the antagonistic interviewer, and then gets shut down. I suppose that is how Trump will be treated during this so-called "debate". Maybe that is the point.

Dogs chasing cars isn't so good for the dog

Number 5 in the series. The previous post is here.

Since the big success of IFT-4, I've been somewhat fixated on space colonization. I'm getting all Star-Trekkie here. The possibilities that could be opening up has my mind spinning. So here's another post in the series. It will be number 5 in the series.

What's whirling around my brain at the moment are these questions: Does Elon Musk know what he's making? If he's got it, will he be like the dog chasing the car? Will he know what to do with it once he has it?

I watched about 20 minutes of Tim Dodd's most recent interview of Musk. He wants to build thousands of Starships. What? Let me posit this. There's no way that thousands of Starships are going to be launched every day on this planet. People are going to start opposing it.

Why does he need 200 tons in orbit with every launch? He needs it for fuel to go to Mars. Therefore, he needs as many ships as he can build. Now consider this: he has to use up 5000 to 6000 tons of fuel on each launch in order to get that 200 tons of fuel to orbit. This isn't going to happen. People are going to say "wait a minute".

Instead of doing that, he needs to go off-world for fuel. That would be Venus. Last night, I plugged my idea into a spreadsheet with the rocket equation scenarios programmed in. From LVO ( Low Venus Orbit) to HEO (High Earth Orbit), you could bring along 700 to 800 tons of mined Venusian atmosphere which can be converted to rocket fuel. You could possibly do this without having to land on Venus at all. Just skim off the top of its atmosphere, and then rocket it up towards HVO. From there, it only takes a small push, and it's off for Mars or Earth. Capture orbits for these destinations don't require a lot of fuel due to low Delta-V requirements.

You can push along the fuel to these locations and use them as staging points. From HEO (High Earth Orbit), you could send a passenger craft that could hold upward of a thousand people each. They could go in comfort in a well shielded and rotating space habitation that could protect them from the major hazards of long duration space flight. That would be radiation and micro gravity. Somebody traveling on a Starship for months is going to be in rough shape when they get there. You may want to consider other options. An off-world source for fuel could drastically reduce the number of launches needed from Earth. People might consider a trip to Mars if they don't get killed in the process.

You don't need a lot of fuel to get from HEO to HMO ( High Mars Orbits). Consequently, one Starship can be like a tug to push along one big space hab for the long journey to Mars. Also, one Starship could be like a big space tug that ships lots of fuel from Venus to these same staging points. The Starship can use these staging point to fuel up and drop off passengers.

Musk's idea of using the Starship to do all these tasks by itself is unrealistic. He's likely to get a lot of people killed that way. They'll die of radiation sickness of body injuries due to micro-gravity. The space habs will solve that problem. Then Starship could specialize in what it does best. That would be getting a lot of mass to somewhere fast, and to get back to low Earth orbit and to Earth itself for more passengers and CARGO. CARGO would mean building those large space habs, and to provision them. Starship could also bring people and cargo back from Mars. It would be a commercial prospect that could fund the whole enterprise. The Earth could rest easier without all those launches.

That's what's been spinning around my noggin lately. Will Musk insist on using the Starship in ways that do not take full advantage of its capabilities? We'll see.

End of series (for now).  Update:  The series will have to end with this post.  Too little is known about the atmosphere of Venus, and the necessary technology is not available.  Therefore, it is too speculative to continue much further.  Update:  You still have the moon, which has oxygen.  Another possibility are the moons of Mars.  Plus the asteroids.  Venus could supply plenty of carbon dioxide, but you need water in order to have hydrogen for making the methane.  UpdateNEXT!
