Shutdown drama nears

Via Ground News, VOA: House Republicans seek to avoid shutdown while Moody Lowers Credit Outlook

Funding runs out in less than a week, or so they say. Moody was said to have cited political troubles as a reason for the downgrade. Moody may be running interference for the Big Government types on both sides of the aisle. The budget could be balanced if the House refused to fund the exorbitant rate of spending, and just ran the government on funds received from taxation.

But that would make too much sense.

More info on the nation's finances from the US Government.    Update a little while later: " Speaker Johnson full of sh*t. Con man. McCarthy clone. "

Update later, after sundown:

Whatever happened to regular order? This is just another surrender to the left wing. This guy's a "conservative"? What ever that is supposed to mean... eyeroll...

Angry Astronaut: "FAA will issue Starship launch license in 48 hours!! My riskiest prediction yet!"

Not only the Angry Astronaut, but others seem to all pointing in that direction. Hang on to your butts.

Head bobbing is weak, says expert

DeSantis does a lot of head bobbing, and that wasn't a good thing for him in the most recent GOP "debate".

I say that anybody running against Trump after all the bullcrap that's has happened, is definitely suspect. If there was anything at all that the GOP would unite around, it is that the crap should stop. But no, we get a lot of empty rhetoric, and no action at all.

We live in clown world he says

Optimal plant production occurs at Carbon dioxide levels of over 1000 parts per million. It is around 400 parts per million now.

Carbon dioxide is plant food, but the powers-that-be say it must be reduced. That's the clown world, as the powers-that-be do everything the opposite of what should be done.

Comments

The blog has always been open for comments, but comments are moderated.  That is, they are moderated when I pay attention.  It appears that I've been derelict in that duty, as many comments ended up being put into spam folders.   I'm not sure how that happened.  It may well have been done automatically if I did not bother to look at them.  So I retrieved a bunch of them from the spam folder, and now they are posted.

My regrets.

Unnecessary defeatism

Quote:

Ace of Spades HQ, JJ Sefton Morning Report

Comment:

I can understand the feeling, but it isn't all lost yet. The above is the bad news. The good news is that people have an opportunity to open their eyes to the truth, and if the truth takes root, this can be reversed. Therefore, as John Paul Jones said once upon a time--- "We have not yet begun to fight."

Which in itself would be the truth. The forces of evil have had no true opposition. Now there's a window of opportunity to provide one. Defeatism is unwarranted.  Time to organize the counter attack.

Upside down world

What kind of upside down world is it when muggers are treated better than the people who defend others from those muggers?

Note: You have to dig into the post a little to see the point being forwarded here. A "vigilante" stopped a mugger, but the so-called vigilante is the problem---not the mugger. That's modern day New York for ya, and how the Democrats favor the criminal class. They protect their own, and not YOU.

We have gangster government in office now, but the guy who wants to return the country to sanity is the problem. Same kind of thinking that leads to bad outcomes. But the rhetoric is about abortion. Mind you, if the rhetoric was actually correct, the abortion restrictions would be seen as rather mild, but instead, are portrayed as highly restrictive. The point being that those who claim to be supporting a more sane approach (the GOP), aren't really serious. If they were, they wouldn't have lost the recent elections. Instead, they'd rather do an Ann Coulter and blame pro-life people for losing the elections. They didn't even try to counter message the Democrat hyped up rhetoric.

The GOP Establishment treats Trump as the problem, but they aren't serious about winning. Even when they do win, they undermine themselves because they are not serious about winning and governing the nation. That's why there is so much leftist craziness going on. No serious opposition from the GOP.

The next election should be a slam dunk for the GOP and conservatism, but they are going to do their best to make it as meaningless as possible, or even lose altogether. When that happens, you'll get the standard Ann Coulter response. Blame the sane, and keep acting crazy. It's the modern upside down world for ya.

Earl Campbell and Marvin Zindler

July 4, 1979

This was broadcast in the midst of the Luv Ya Blue Era of the Houston Oilers. Campbell was a star running back for the team, and Marvin Zindler was a TV personality. Zindler's fame was from the "Chicken Ranch" affair.

Now the thing about Zindler to me was his fastidious attention to neatness and order. He was the exact opposite to yours truly. When he came into a tire store that I was managing back at the time ( about this time, maybe a little after that time), he was worried about a scuff he gotten on one his tires. He was willing to replace it when I suppose most people wouldn't have given it a thought. That tire store I was at was like the Wild, Wild West. We even had a guy called "Wild Bill". He got his nickname from trying to take the lug nuts off a hubcap that had fake lug nuts built into it.

I didn't have anything to match what went on his Cadillac, and I sent him on to a place nearby that might have had a new tire that would match what he had just scuffed up a bit. I wanted no trouble with Marvin Zindler, I can tell you.

It may be an advantage to be so neat and everything, but it always seemed to me to be an affectation. If there was anything about Zindler, it was this affectation. If clothes makes the man, then I guess it's true. But it only does because people care more about the outside than what is on the inside. Not saying that there was anything wrong with Mr. Zindler as a man. Just saying you cannot always judge the book by its cover. But that is what people tend to do.

What to Expect for SpaceX Starship's Second Flight Test (Countdown & Trajectory)

Excitement guaranteed. Nothing else is, or so I gathered. Hopefully no earth shattering kaboom in the vicinity of the launch pad.

SHOCK — One In Five Democrats Side With Hamas: I&I/TIPP Poll – Issues & Insights (NOT)

SHOCK — One In Five Democrats Side With Hamas: I&I/TIPP Poll – Issues & Insights: Democrats have suffered a serious split in party unity over support of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas over Israel.

Comment:

Let's see... If 20% favor Hamas, and if the Democrats represent 40% of the population, then that would mean that about 8% favor Hamas. It reminds me of 9-11-2001 aftermath, when Bush got 90% approval rating. That means about 10% of the US population did not support America at a dark hour. As far as I am concerned, what happened on 9-11-2001, and this latest mass terror attack, are one and the same. Therefore, the poll numbers should be the same, and they do appear to be the same.

This should not be a shock then. It lines up with what has happened before.

We have a substantial minority that wants bad things to happen to almost all of us. It so happens that these people have their home in the Democrat party, and they've got a real problem in keeping it under wraps.

But the GOP won't do the obvious and put that albatross on the Dem's necks, because they certainly deserve it. Romney wouldn't do it after the Benghazi attacks in 2012, and pretty much let the Dems make up a phony video story to give themselves cover. There isn't an opportunity that the GOP fails to miss.

Mirror, mirror on the wall

Who's the biggest jackass of them all? Is it Haley, Ramaswampy, or whoever ( see tweet below) ...

Some wise feller once said "Don't get into an argument with an idiot. Somebody watching may not be able to tell the difference."

A question was raised about how this changes the fundamentals of this race. Maybe it changes how the view is on the race to the bottom. Nobody distinguished themselves here as being serious. Anybody who watched this shitshow cannot be serious. I'm sorry to be commenting upon it. I wish I didn't have to see how stupid this all is.

Same source talked about the three takeaways of the debate. They should take away the whole thing and scrub it from the internet. It is an embarrassment for a party that seeks to do something (or ANYTHING) to oppose the Democrats in any meaningful way. The country is going to hell in a handbasket and this is what they want to use to sell themselves? These people are not serious.

It doesn't look like the current crop of GOP incumbents have a clue either. They are worried about a shutdown. The best news in years for this country would be a shutdown from now to the end of this congressional term. It would certainly help the nation's finances. A serious effort would require a shutdown, but these people aren't serious either.

update a little while later...

If Ramaswampydingdong thought felt way, then why participate in this "debate" at all?

Things are not what the way it seems

There may have been some monkey business in the Kentucky race for governor. The Democrat won that race, but the rest of the ballot was won solidly by Republicans. It looks suspicious. Voting machines are suspected of flipping votes in another state too.

Some time stamped photos have surfaced which undermines the J6th Insurrection narrative.

So things may not be the way it seems. But one thing you can count on, and that is that the GOP will only make some complaining sounds, but in the end, will do absolutely nothing about it.

How do they keep winning? They cheat...

Another thing to consider. In Kentucky, where the GOP governor candidate lost, the nominee was a Cocaine Mitch protege. Cocaine Mitch was no friend of Trump. While Trump endorsed the guy, the nominee wasn't a MAGA guy. Hence, the lack of enthusiasm?

How the Moscow, Idaho Killer Was Found - A Tracking Case Study

It is becoming more and more of an imperative to get rid of cell phones, or to limit their use sharply. These things are being abused by the Big Tech operators.

The following video shows how a suspect was tracked by using his phone data. The problem with this is that the technique can be used for political purposes, and was in fact used for political purposes on January 6th.

It may be a losing battle to discuss this with people. The few conversations that I've had with others would suggest that people are underestimating the risks and downsides to the use of these infernal machines. They may have useful qualities, but the downsides are so great that one would have to question whether they are worth having or not. As for me, I will only have one in my vehicle when I travel--and it will be off unless I need it, and it will be in a Faraday bag. A different phone at home.

People should have at least SOME privacy. But that is going, going, gone...

Smart phones are dooming a generation

Elections being decided on abortion issue??? Hoo boy.

Don't give whiskey to an Injun, don't give smart phones to a girl. Neither can handle it. Reminds me of this line in the movie----

Starship Update, 11/7/23

Fish and Wildlife holding up the launch? What could possibly be their objection? This is a crock.

11/7/23: Dan Bongino Show Today

Note: You may want to do a screen grab beginning near, or somewhat after the 18:36 mark. It shows the manifesto. I would do that, but this computer doesn't do screen grabs, or if it does, I haven't found it yet.

Update with a screen grab mentioned above...

Sourced from Bongino Show, who got it from Crowder

Note the language is from a "transgendered person"  (female who thinks she's a male).  Obviously, this is a very sick human being...  Why would the media and the government authorities wish to hide this from the public?  In order to perpetuate the myth that these people are normal?

Beware the climate hoax and scam

Herein lies an embedded post on GETTR, which uses AI to analyze article, and to which I added a comment. Expanding upon this is a link to a post in which thoroughly debunks the premise of carbon dioxide being in any way a cause for climate change.

Leftism is a cult?

Update to post of 11/1/23:

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, must be a duck. "Trans-gender" Nashville shooter had a manifesto that wasn't released until recently. It clearly shows a motive, and that doesn't make them look good. Hence, the censorship.

Here's a cult that produced some real deaths. It is synergistic phenomenon, meaning that it feeds upon itself. Events that result in deaths are being used to generate even more initiatives to generate even more deaths.

The cult wants to end gun rights so that they can inflict even more death upon the rest. Of course, the death cult is closely associated with the political left. But the GOP doesn't really oppose it, so where does that leave the rest? Up that infamous creek, it appears.

11/01/23: Update to post of 2/15/23

There'd be those who would think this is bad form for me to do this. Funny how the idea for this happened. I saw this, and thought, "this is why the Starship remains of the launch pad--- to get even with Musk for buying Twitter. But in listening to Musk, I see that it is a lot bigger than just that. Musk uses the phrase "death cult".

So I'm tooting my own horn here, and it is not good form. But I don't need a big audience as long as people see what I am talking about. So here it is.

end update:

Who'd a thunk it?

Well, there this here blog that mentioned a "death cult".  Type "death cult" into the search the blog search box on the left top corner of the blog, and you will get several posts on that phrase.

Rush Limbaugh once liked to say that he was on the "cutting edge of societal evolution".   Well, is Rush on the cutting edge of the cutting edge?

Don't wanna brag too loud, but those posts are good stuff.

Google's Founder has a new toy

This airship won't be going to orbit

The FAA has granted a license. The Devil you say?! The FAA grants licenses now? You could knock me over with a feather.

These kind of airships could be interesting, but the FAA is putting it on a really short leash. Maybe they can do something interesting if the government will let them. We'll see.

As far as Airshps going to orbit, it has been awhile since I checked out JP Aerospace. He has some different ideas than the Google guy, and whole lot less money.

Update a few hours later...

John Powell of JP Aerospace may never get to space with his idea of using airships, but he definitely has a plan.

11/7/23: Update to post of 11/5/23:

This could be a new post, but it sorta relates to JP Aerospace's airship to orbit, so here goes. It's a thought that just occurred to me. John Powell wants to use this idea for thrust for his airships. But what if this were used to get up to speed so that a scramjet could provide the rest of the thrust to orbit?

Scramjets don't work until you get to hypersonic speeds. Something needs to get it moving fast enough so that it can start up. There's some work being done on hypersonic planes, and the speed limit could be close to orbital velocity. The significance of this would be that the scramjets are air breathing. Therefore, you wouldn't need to carry the oxygen onboard. This could be a significant development.

John Powell's MHD engine is pretty efficient on its own. Combining it with a scramjet could result in a rather interesting combination. Perhaps it could be used to launch the scramjet, which would get to orbit on its own. There are problems with airships, but a scramjet might make possible the use of a small spacecraft to get to orbit. The efficiency of the MHD on an airship with a scramjet would require a lot less fuel, and thus the spacecraft could be made much smaller. Something to think about.

Hamas is said to be using hospital as terrorist operations base (video)

The video shows no lack of electrical power. Maybe Uncle Sam sent them plenty of $$$ for backup power. Uncle Sam isn't what he used to be, that's for sure. Biden's Rasmussen Poll numbers down to 41%. It is amazing to me that it is that high, but that's before you take into consideration a few factors that keeps Biden afloat. Number one amongst them is a dishonest media. Number two is a bought off academia. Number three is a bought off Democrat Party. With all that going for it, they cannot get higher numbers than this says a lot. Imagine what would be the case if those factors mentioned above were neutralized.

The fact of the matter is that they should be neutralized. The poll numbers are giving the radicalized far left wing of the Democrat Party free rein to raise hell in this country. If his poll numbers were depressed far enough, that would be the end of this Orwellian period of American history.

The Rise of Jacobin Justice

Some recent history recounted, which is a history that appears to have been forgotten. Swept down the memory hole, like anything else that conflicts with the latest thing.

Update a little while later...

Here's a video along the same lines. Amazing how those trials in recent history ( mentioned above) correlate with the Lawfare campaign against Trump. Frankly, the Lawfare campaign has nothing to do with the law, but with weaponization of the law against political opponents. It breaks all the rules in the book.

Obama says "go" to Joe

"Go" as in go away.

Could there be a stealthy threat in this message? The business about it being in Joe's best interest seems a bit ominous. First thoughts would be a threat from Trump, but the real threat may be from the nut cases on the left. After all, Seth Rich's murder has not been solved, nor is it likely to be. Unwelcome rivals can get "Arkancided". Perhaps some unfortunate accident may befall old Joe.

Why the snark about Starship?

Otherwise, a good update. I know people are getting impatient, but this is a government problem, not a SpaceX problem.

Americans are not the problem, but the leadership could use some improvement

They let protesters get unruly in DC when they are unAmerican types, or not even Americans at all.

But let some red-blooded American patriots protest a phony election, and they will toss them in jail by the hundreds. While they are at it, these frauds will stomp all over their civil rights, and will hold some of them without charges for years. All of this in violation of the Constitution. Who do these people represent? Palestinians? Communists? Certainly not Americans.

They locked down the country over some phony ass scamdemic, but they cannot control foreigners coming into the nation's capitol? Something about it all stinks to high heaven. Where's the National Guard? Where's the police? So they will not confront terrorists and their sympathizers?

What a pitiful bunch they are.

Big Brother Watching You in Collyfornia, and is darned proud to do it

China's "social credit system" being adopted in the former Golden State, and it uses "1 billion data points". Oh, boy!

Gov. Newsom wants to be POTUS too ( when he grows up) , so you know what THAT means.

The commies want to make it sound good, but what use do they have for all that data? It isn't to make your lives better, you can bet your sweet bippy on that one.

I'd like to award Gov. Newsom and the rest of the Big Tech snoops the Fickle Finger of Fate. It is my way of giving them the finger.

Green New Deal may be in the red

Critics of Biden's hydrogen initiative warn of boondoggle

The article breaks down the analysis with a color code. The high end for hydrogen is $5 per kg. That appears to be the most expensive, and it would come from electrolysis of water. Seems a bit high priced. Keep in mind that if Eric Lerner's Focus Fusion works, prices would be reduced by an order of magnitude. That would reduce it to 50 cents per kg.

Producing it from fossil fuels is absolutely ridiculous. You already have it as a ready made source of energy. Why do that??? It is more "economical", but compared to what???

Production from fusion energy that Lerner seeks to perfect doesn't seem so bad, but probably isn't the most efficient. But it would be cheaper than oil and gas now. The way forward should be clear. However, nobody seems interested in Lerner's work. He's still trying to raise money. He went to Greta Thunberg, but that didn't seem to help.

I'd recommend it, but I'm not in position to comment upon its prospects for success. It is cheap to get in on an investment, and I am in for one share at 200 bucks. What the heck? It isn't that much even for me.
