Not exactly a good look , but does anybody at the GOP care?

So McConnell and McCarthy don't want to pursue impeachment. This is just plain thuggish behavior.

This is not rule of law. It is rule of the most powerful gang. If the GOP is going to allow themselves to be treated like this, it should respond appropriately. They are going to made to look irrelevant if they don't. They will look that way because they will actually be irrelevant.

Booster 9 rollback to production site

Very long video, so this was skipped well along to the point where you can see where it is going.

Still have to test the hot staging ring, and if successful, attach the ring to the booster. Meanwhile, they can service the engines that failed the static fire test.

Dead skunk in the middle of the road, stinking to high heaven

This is so, so bad. A blind man can see what's wrong with ALL of DC. She shouldn't even be on a court at all, much less presiding over a case such as this.

Where's the GOP??? Well, you've got Will Hurd claiming that Trump is only running to avoid prosecution. Well, he must be in a cave or something. They're throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the guy. All of it because he should win the GOP nomination. Why else would they be prosecuting him?!?

If this doesn't bother people, they need their heads examined.

By the way, NO TRIAL should be allowed in DC. There's absolutely no way that anyone can get a fair trial there. That place has gone absolutely nuts.

Undercover video involving Nancy Pelosi's daughter discussing January 6th

The video could be downloaded and then uploaded, so I did it because it couldn't be embedded. So now it is. Looks like a Gateway Pundit video. I make no claims to it, of course.

The video has a few notes that are illuminating. That is, it is illuminating for anyone who actually thinks about these things. First, you cannot get a fair trial in DC. Second, the media is hyping it ( Jan 6th). Plus there are other things.

So why would they hold the trials ( plus the upcoming one with Trump ) in DC knowing full well there cannot be a fair trial? Indeed, and why would a change in venue be denied? Obviously, it is a railroad job.

False flag

8/7/23: Update, last post on Mar 7th, 2023

Former US Capitol Police Lt. says "every police officer there on J6th was set up"

The significant thing about this link is that there is no whistleblower protections on the US Capitol Police Force. Sounds like it is ripe for abusive practices, then.

The story also mentions that somebody got rich off this ( who shouldn't have). Yep, and now the Democrats have indicted and are going to jail Trump. Cui bono on that one, eh?

By the way, the only thing the Democrats have to do is to run out the clock, or so it seems. This is well over two and a half years. If justice is coming, it is coming too slow.

This was a "Fedsurrection", and here's the motive

Summary of the explanation for why it was an inside job, and a set up--- Basically, Pelosi and the Democrats needed to keep the challenge off the record, so they set up an "emergency". The emergency pretext was needed so that there would be no challenge. Biden would be "installed", just as Pelosi said previously.

There is no insurrection in a legal challenge, but the challenge was taken away because of the "emergency". So and emergency had to be ginned up. Hence, an "insurrection".

Without a legal challenge, the Supreme Court couldn't intervene because there was no legal standing.

More similarities between the whitmer plot and January-6

This Julie Kelly piece finds some uncanny similarities between the Whitmer plot and the so-called "insurrection" on January 6th.

It looks politically motivated, but it always has seemed that way to me. As I wrote at the time, "cui bono"? It was all a set-up.

False Flag

It's not looking good. Evidently perps let this get out of control. Even for a few moments, it is still bad. Trump and his supporters get the blame, and the crooks skate again.

It is likely a false-flag op. In fact, I'd say a false-flag is definitely more likely than a Trump-inspired take-over-the-Capitol-Building op. The latter is ridiculous. If Trump just wanted a hearing on his challenge, this effectively stops it. Why would he do that?!

Cui bono? Also, there are calls to forcibly remove Trump. These are coming from the usual suspects. Cui bono to the googleplex.

There's no reason why a simple procedure couldn't be allowed unless there were those who feared it could go against them. If you've got the goods, then why would you stage some- thing goofy like this?!

Yep, I think false-flag. It gives the surrender chorus the opportunity to go belly-up. But they really didn't need any excuse. This helps them do that and the false flag gives them cover for those who would believe that nonsense.

What are these limp-wristed wimps getting for their sell-out? We'll probably never know.

Sunday Reflection: The future will be better than we think if politicians don’t ruin it

8/7/23: Update to post made on Mar 4, 2012

Why no Roman Industrial Revolution?

This post seems more relevant today than it did then. We have a government that is dedicated to destroying its own country. You don't have to ask for many more reasons why a civilization failed. It had way too many people in powerful positions that did not give a damn about the country that they ruled...

As it applies to Rome, so shall it apply to America. There are simply way too many people that are supposedly in its service who care nothing for it, otherwise, they wouldn't be doing what they are doing. Not only what they are doing today, but things that they've done in prior years. The Obama Administration was going to destroy all work on molten- salt reactors, but it was discovered by patriots, so they couldn't. Instead of developing it fully, they gave away the technology to CHINA.

This is not an isolated example of their malevolence towards the people they claim to serve. After all, what the hell did we just go through with the COVID business? That was manufactured to HARM this country for political gain. To think otherwise is to put your heads in the sand. They'll gas light us all forever to cover it up, too. It hasn't given the results they really wanted, so they'll try something else. AGW will be their next excuse. If it isn't that, it will be something else.

It is the Tiberius Syndrome because the Emperor Tiberius had a man executed for inventing something revolutionary that would benefit all of world's people, but not Tiberius himself. That's how a civilization will eventually crumble into dust. It is not a hard thing to understand if you are willing to see things as they really are.

We have a lot of leaders in the GOP who claim to be all for "rule of law". But the Democrats trample all over it, and what do they do? Nothing! What could possibly be the reason for failure to do something when something is indicated? It is either malevolence, or indifference. Given that the GOP loves to run against its own base, I'd say more the former than the latter.

The Democrats are just plain hateful. The GOP COULD do something, but they won't. Yet, people wonder why the Roman Empire didn't have an Industrial Revolution. It didn't have one because the leadership didn't give a shit. History may not repeat, but it was famously said by someone to rhyme. It sure looks like that these days if you care to listen carefully enough.

Ironically, this point is made by the authors’ opening anecdote. As recounted by Pliny the Elder, a goldsmith proudly displayed to the Roman Emperor Tiberius a shiny plate he’d made from a new metal extracted from clay (aluminum) using a secret method only he understood.

The emperor was indeed impressed: He saw this new shiny metal as a possible threat to the value of his large gold and silver stockpiles, so instead of rewarding the goldsmith, he had him beheaded.

Comment:

My sentiments exactly.

It looks as if the politicians have already screwed up the thorium fuel cycle molten salt reactor.  This would have improved life immensely, but it isn't available now, nor will it be unless something changes soon.

They may well have screwed up the space program and cold fusion.   But that may seem to be a bit over the top, thus the use of the word "may".  If only the thorium reactors were the only way the politicians screw things up.

For example, we get further restrictions on the ability to use energy.  Prices go up, and the standard of living will go down.  This doesn't have to happen, but it will if things continue in the direction that it is going.

Starship Update: 8/6/23, Static Fire of Booster 9 today

Update on 8/6/23 post:

This video shows a different angle. The lower angle of the previous video showed near ground level. The steam cloud obscured the engines lighting up. The higher angle, while looking down, was able to capture the short time that the engines were lit up.

editorial comment:

A lot of these videos show stuff that hasn't got that much to do with Starship. There are others that get pretty ridiculous in their needless repetition. This one got to business, then added a lot of what I considered "fluff".

the original post of 8/6/23:

There was a static fire that last less than 3 seconds today. It is reported that 4 engines shut down prematurely. The static fire was to last 5 seconds, so the duration was a bit shorter than scheduled.

The test left no visible cloud after about 5 minutes. The pad didn't appear to have any damage, and no damage was reported.

The video below is from SpaceX.
