A one-word answer? Well, I don't know if that will be persuasive enough.
The framers of the Constitution weren't dummies. They knew history, and applied it to the structure of a new government for the new nation in 1787.
If folks would study the actual history of this country, and the creation of one of its fundamental documents---the Constitution, they'd probably conclude that Talarico doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.
Does that mean that we should abandon the current form of government, and institute a Parliament, such as most of the Europeans countries have?
It was Europe in which the two horrific world wars started. They had Parliaments then, too. Why is it so good now? Because the USA, with its Constitutional Republic has stood guard over them, and now they think their system is better than ours? Then why are they copying our system--- European Union?
Yeah, the Europeans are teaching us so well to commit suicide, which is what they're doing.
If Talarico wants that, then what he says makes sense. However, DO YOU WANT THAT???
