Treatment zaps high blood pressure at the source - Yahoo! News

2/11/26:

Looks like Yahoo took down the link. Thanks a lot, yayhoos. Wonder who paid you off for doing that little trick. Looks like how you saddle us with a fake vaccine. You know something? The world is full of sell-outs. That's why I wrote that. Which reminds me, Yayhoo is celebrating the latest sell out strategies in the House. Notice how the sell-outs could care less about Americans?

Here's another shot: They sold out to the Chinese the same way that Cocaine Mitch did. Stick that in your crack pipes and smoke, pinkos.

Fantasy Sports

Fantasy sports in this country are very popular. I admit to being one of the afflicted. For those not familiar with this pasttime, allow me to explain how it works.

Before the season starts in the sport you choose (September for pro football, April for baseball, etc.) you either join a league, or form one yourself. There are many sites from which to pick, I prefer Yahoo.

I first joined a football league in Yahoo 9 years ago. I was asked to join in order to fill the final vacancy in a company sponsored league. Other members of the league helped me to understand how to play. A player draft occurs before the season starts in order to stock your team with players. It's important to submit a list of players you want on your team. The draft can occur in real time with each team picking a player of his choice as his turn comes up or you can just let the computer pick for you in an automated draft.

A real time draft is the most fun, since you have a time limit to make a player choice, and if you take too long, the computer picks for you. (sounds a little Big Brotherish, don't it ). Each week during the football season, the stats of the players on your team are compared to the stats on the team you are pitted against.

If your team leads the stats in more catagories than your opponent leads, you win for the week. At the end of the season a playoff occurs to decide the league champion. Usually the teams in the top half of the finishers gets to play for the championship. The second half play a consolation tourney, but they have been eliminated from the trophy run. In order to win you must keep your roster up to date, because players that can't play (due to injury, suspension, or other reasons) won't get you the stats you need to win.

Some people play for prizes, but most of the leagues I have been a part of do it for funsies only. There are rules for playing, and sometimes people try to cheat. One year I was the commissioner in a football league, and I had to discipline a couple of cheaters. Mostly the players are honest and sportsman-like, but just as in most things, there are crooks in the leagues, too.

If anybody has any questions they would like to ask about fantasy sports, let me hear from you. I am a pretty good player and have been a commissioner in a few different sports. I'd be happy to share my vast knowledge with anyone.

Return of the prodigal

A few months ago, I had a little problem with some people whose name rhymes with snoogle. That caused me to stop my blog-work in midstride. Now, I'm not going to say the world stopped while I was away, but New York lost it's favorite Weiner. Sorry, I never get tired of poking fun at one of the "world's smartest people". That's a bold statement, but I heard it at Huffpo so it must be true. I have been invited to post a stray thought from time to time and if you feel compelled to disagree, do so. The times in which we live beg for participation from everyone with a voice, and so I intend to do it. So as soon as a cogent thought comes along, I'll share it here. Adios for now.

Big Brother is Watching

I've noticed that the ads on this blog have been tailored to fit the content of the posts. Somebody at Google must have decided that's the best way to get readers of the blog to click an ad is to do it that way. Pretty ingenious. Since most of the blogmaster (that's you Greg) posts recently have been about the space program, the ads have taken a governmental twist. I don't know about you, but the I.R.S. ones make me nervous. The ads for depression cures may come from my posts, since I ain't Little Mary Sunshine most of the time. In order to spice up the ads, I've considered telling some dirty jokes, just to see what the outcome could be. Viagra ads most likely. Possibly even Victoria Secret. woohoo. Well anyway, if somebody has a comment about this post, do us all a favor and say something somewhere in it about crotchless panties. Thank you very much.

Korea is still there

Every once in a while North Korea likes to let the world know they are still armed and dangerous. Several months ago, they killed several dozen of their southern neighbors by sinking a S. Korean war vessel. Today they sent hundreds of rounds of artillery fire to blast a South Korean island. Scores of homes were reportedly destroyed. The death toll was set a 2 and 17 wounded, but that number seems small for the amount of property damage inflicted. South Korean President Lee Myung-bak is standing up and shaking his fist and warning the North to stop or they'll really be in trouble. GRRRR.It's the tried and true old trick from Kim Jong-il. He does this everytime he needs something from the South. A form of extortion, that almost always sees the US or South Korea paying him to stop. Credence for this, is the response of China (puppetmasters of the Kims) calling for new 6 party talks. This is code for get out your checkbook you running dog capitalists. Some reports have claimed this second round of agression in a short period of time, is due to the apprenticeship of the beloved leaders' successor and coincidently his son, Kim Jong-un. Little un is learning how to throw tantrums and get stuff from the grownups. Taught by the master his little Papa. It's a dangerous and foolish game they play, but so far they've mastered it.

New Features

I like the new features. The link to Drudge Report is convenient since I visit both Boots and Drudge every day. The joke links are cool too. Keep up the good work, bud.

I feel your er...uh...pain?

The busiest travel day of the year is coming up this week, and all is not right at the boarding gate. When John Tyner refused to be groped by the stormtroopers from TSA before boarding a flight in San Francisco to visit family, his warning to them was, "if you touch my junk I'll have you arrested". That opened the floodgates and more stories are becoming public every day. Like the three year old girl crying because the TSA guy was trying to do what her mother told her was evil and not to be tolerated, he was trying to touch her junk, sick bastid. Or the nun being groped, or the cancer victim having to remove her prosthetic breast, to prove she wasn't carrying a bomb. People are on edge these days with money worries mixed in with the regular stress of trying to celebrate a BIG holiday while not feeling all that festive. President Obama finally chimed in with his best Bill Clinton imitation, as he said we are all unhappy about having to put up with this intrusive crotch grabbing at the airport. I really doubt he and Michelle got the old slap and tickle treatment as they boarded Air Force One for their round the world 'please help America' tour twice in the past two weeks. Will he let grown men handle his daughters under the threat of penalties for refusal. Somehow I think Uncle Sam is feeling something at the airport but it ain't pain.

Who's Getting the Bone?

Don't worry, the title is in reference to money being the dog's lunch, a bone. The dog in my opinion is China. They are going nuts because of QE 2. For many years now, the Chinese have been given affirmative action help in order to grow their economy. The yuan is worth so very much more than it's official price. Again for years now they have been taking over manufacturing for all of the things we used to make. So as the USA lost market shares to the Chinese we lost jobs as well. QE2 MAY BE A BARGAINING CHIP TO GET THE REST OF THE WORLD'S HANDS OUT OF THE COOKIE JAR. I have no way to prove it, but we have been trying to get China to play fair for a long time, and they just won't do it. They are the dog, they've got the bone and they'll fight to keep it. We are left to play a game of chicken, basically telling the world,"if we go down, we're taking you with us. Play nice or we all get spanked.
