Climate scientist Michael Mann’s defamation case reveals what critics say is unethical behavior

This is the first I've heard of this trial. It's being held in DC, so I figure that's not a good omen for the defendants.

Since I'm not familiar with the case at all, my only impression is from this article. It looks like a typical leftist pressure tactic to try to control opposition. ( meaning Mann is suing in order to pressure his critics to shut up.)

It also looks like guys like Mann are succeeding in the broader fight to gain acceptance of their methods. The question before us all should be this: Is this the kind of society that we want? Because if it is, then this country won't be livable in the near future.
