Jipped this NASASpaceflight update at this point, because it is interesting to me. A speculation pops up into my noggin. If SpaceX is testing a sub-component like this, could it mean that it could also become a stand-alone rocket in its own right? I'm thinking of an HLS variant here that could land astronauts on the moon. Just a thought. It's isn't worth an entire post, so it is going here, as opposed to the Space City Speculations blog.
