I didn't follow it at all. After getting this news, I dug around a little. There were only two Senators on the GOP side that voted to convict. All the Democrats did on most of the charges.

This was an ill advised effort that could only result in a political circus. It should not have been brought. If there was any evidence, it should have been presented during the election. There doesn't appear to be anything new since then. Paxton was elected by a large margin. Again, there was nothing new here.

I'd prefer public officials to be above reproach. But this was done in such a way that the truth could not be served. It looks political and probably was. Since it was, it should have been relegated to the ballot. If they couldn't win there, they should have admitted defeat and moved on.

It is unfortunate that the GOP decided to resort to lawfare on one of their own. There's way too much of that from the Democrat side. Paxton is pro-Trump, and it was probably the never-Trump faction who wanted the charges brought. It was political in nature.

Yours truly doesn't know the significance of this event...

But I continue to believe that this was a set up. Not an insurrection, or at least not by the people there on that day. It wasn't about overthrowing the Constitution. If it isn't that, then it cannot be an insurrection. An insurrection can only be against the legal authority. The representatives of that government aren't the sovereignty itself, but only agents of the sovereignty. Disobedience to them personally does not constitute insurrection.

To put it another way, they aren't the LAW, but only servants to the LAW. An attempt to place themselves into a position of sovereignty so that a disobedience to them PERSONALLY is actually an insurrection itself. They have no such authority.

Question: What the hell happened that justifies this change? The 4-20 launch itself is not likely to have been the reason. This is politics. The government is way the hell out of control. There should be no funds for the government until these creeps get their asses back into line.

That wouldn't be a bit of click bait there, now would it? The news here is that there may be a more stringent environmental review than the one conducted recently. The "surprise" is that the FAA actually answered one of his emails.

Is an enviromental review warranted based upon what actually happened on 4/20/23? In my opinion, there's no justification for it. It is being threatened though, and it may be pushed through.

The government can ruin SpaceX here if they want to. It should be asked, why would the government want to ruin SpaceX?

Kinda looks like an early October launch at best. The government is being petty and tyrannical, as usual.

Romney goes. Good riddance.

Recent news has Senator Romney stepping down after this next election. There was an Atlantic piece on St. Romney, which I'd like to discuss. The discussion is really about the sucking up to the left that these guys love to do, as opposed to actually fighting the Democrats. Guys like Romney love to get their gold stars from the media for fighting the base of the GOP, who are responsible for putting guys like Romney in office in the first place.

In the Atlantic article, Romney comes off as being weak. He tried to run away when the Capitol riot began, and was shooed back in to where it was "safer". The danger from the riot was played up immensely by the left. None of those protesters were armed, and Romney wasn't in any real danger. The point I'm trying to make is that Romney wanted to run away, and was scared to face the protesters. Why not talk to them? Indeed, why didn't the GOP faction talk to the protesters? Why did they let themselves be herded like sheep? Is it because that's what they are? Sheep?

So St. Romney gets his gold star from the leftist media. He leaves with some parting shots for the people who put him into office in the first place. He says disparaging things about them to the enemedia. What a guy. What a hero.

Most of the GOP acts like Romney. They are scared of the left, and they'd rather fight the people who put them into office, as opposed to fighting the left. They want their gold stars. They are Mr and Mrs Goody Goody Two Shoes.

There was no "insurrection". There was no attempted "coup detat". The GOP, with its flaccidity, allowed themselves to be used by the hard left in accusing unarmed protesters of attempting to overthrow the government of the USA. This is a monstrous lie. Instead of defending the people who voted for them, they allow us to be smeared in such an ugly and unjust fashion. It's no wonder that there are so many people who are sick and tired of these so-called "leaders".

There are people who have been locked up for all this time, and who have been deprived of their rights. Others have been given draconian sentences for minor offenses. All the while, many were INVITED into the Capitol building by the police. People in the GOP like Romney are responsible for this travesty of justice. Sucking up to these monsters is no reason for accolades.

The Romney types need to go. There are way too many of them in the GOP.
