Impeachment circus begins a new act

12:52 pm:

CTH is saying that they are still denying full rights to the minority and to the POTUS.  Also that they are trying to leverage the recent Court ruling so as to make an enforceable subpoena.  This is for show.  Ultimately the thing can be shot down, but not before they make a few scenes, imo.

9:10 am:

Still looks fishy.  It is a vote to "affirm" what has been done so far.  White House is saying that it only affirms the illegitimacy permanently.

Last vote was only 218, which is the minimum number for a majority of Congress-critters.  If they keep all those votes, they will only get deeper into the poop, and will be giving up some ground in the process ( if you can believe the reports about opening up the process ).

Alan Dershowitz was reported to have said that what Trump is alleged to have done is not impeachable.  Nevertheless, the House can impeach Trump for whatever they please.  The Senate can remove Trump for whatever they please once the House impeaches.  The big question is what happens when the other shoe drops.  Democrats must believe it helps them politically.  Republicans must know that to vote with the Democrats will only destroy the Republican party.  What would the people think?  The polls may not be helpful in ascertaining that.

Are polls really useful?

Comment:

Polling accuracy depends on an accurate representation of the population at large.  It has to be so, because the number of people responding to the poll is so small in relation to the entire population.  If the numbers are off even a little, the poll will be skewed.

If 17% of the Democrats identify more with Trump, then how does it relate to his approval ratings?  The approval ratings tend to be based upon the percentage of Republicans and Democrats within the larger population.

Those who criticize Rasmussen say that there are too many Republicans in their samples.  Those who criticize the other polls say the Democrats are over-represented.

With this many Democrats agreeing more with Trump, it would appear that his supporters are under-represented in even the Rasmussen poll.  Trump's true numbers could be much higher than the ones being reported.

Trump's election was a big surprise to many in 2016.  Not to me.  This number of Democrats favoring him may be an indication of a phenomenon that I thought was possible back then.  Trump could be causing a realignment of the voting patterns.  If I am right, then Trump could win again even if the polls say he should lose.

OBL photos staged, but al-Baghdadi's weren't, but that's not how it's reported

How does the media get things wrong so often?

The media gets things wrong because they are perverse.  Something's not right upstairs, know what I mean, Vern?

Badge of Honor

Comment:

To have the right kind of enemies is a good sign that you're doing something right.  The vote goes more than 90% Democrat in DC.  For any GOP guy to get booed there is a badge of honor.  The louder the better.

One thing though.  For Trump to show up there takes some guts.  If for nothing else, he should have everybody's respect.  But that may be asking too much from fanatics.

Update shortly later...

Well, whaddaya know.  Looks like the Trumps have the same idea.  Too bad the Pierre Delecto types in the GOP don't think the same way.

Crenshaw Busts Schiff's Star Chamber tactics

Comment:

Update:

10.27.19:

There may be an out for the Dems on this one.  They could claim National Security or Law Enforcement exception.  But that seems a bit shaky given that the transcript of the actual call has already been declassified.

10.26.19:

Schiff's party supported him in his unjustified claim of secrecy.   Let's not forget about that one, either.

James Baker "flips" in Barr's criminal probe

Comment:

10.27.19:

Could be the James Baker that has "flipped", and why he "flipped".  More "James Bakers" out there than you can shake a stick at.  This one is different Baker than the one I thought they were talking about.  This one is a Colonel, but the other was an FBI lawyer.

10.25.19:

One quibble I have with this video is the former Treasury official during the Reagan years was pictured.  That's a different James Baker from the one mentioned in this tweet.  No clarification was given.  That's an error.

Lots of news today.  Enough to make your head swim a bit.

Resistance ( At all costs )

Comment/ Opinion:

It seems that the Resistance has accomplished at least one thing.  It has shaved about 10 points off of Trump's approval rating in the Rasmussen poll.  The trend seems to be downward.

The media's blackout of any honest critique of the Resistance must be considered effective at this point.

There are some who fear a civil war.  But the public at large is not preparing for one, nor is there any indication of a violent turn as of yet.  That is, no violence from Trump supporters.

Without some change in the messaging war, the outcome does not appear good to Trump at this point.  Even with a damning IG report and some indictments ( with no guarantee of this happening), the media can hold their own in this war.

Something to think about.
