Experimental post (continued)

More about that post yesterday. It was a reaction to lower than usual pageviews. In that post, there was a mention of "Tsar Bomba". There wasn't a Tsar Bomba post, per se, but a Tsar Bomba UPDATE to an existing post. That's what gave me the notion of an alternative explanation. Maybe the Tsar Bomba UPDATE wasn't even seen or noticed. That may be why there was no reaction, thus fewer pageviews.

So much for that. Learn and move on. Updates don't generate pageviews. I'll move on. Don't know if I'll eliminate Updates, though. This post could have been an update, but this one WAS eliminated as an update. It will be a separate post.

Maybe because it really isn't an update. It will have a new idea beginning now. The new idea is this: what happened to the citizen's journalist concept that was originated in the concept of blogging? The old blogs were like that, but the one's now have all but abandoned the idea.

The old way was to support other bloggers. You'd do that by having their names on your sidebar. Each blogger supported other bloggers. That's not done now. It has become commercialized. Commercialization will lead to the same problems that blogs were supposed to address. Those were to have alternative viewpoints. Now the government is into censorship. If you say anything that contradicts the party line, you will be cancelled. You will be labelled a source of "misinformation". Before long, you will be branded as an enemy of the people. It is just like the old Soviet Union. By the way, the government is doing illegal censorship. The government cannot legally deputize media to censor the news, but they are doing it anyway.

Once upon a time, we did have a fake free press. It was a fake free press as opposed to a real free press. People like the fakery. Fake seems to work better than being real. People are more inclined to believe the fakery. Real things are just so yesterday. But yesterday was also fake. The "free press" wasn't free. There was bias in the media. They pretended to be objective, but they weren't. Now they don't even pretend. They are recognized as being partisan, but people don't care. They like fakery. As long as the media puts out the propaganda they agree with, they lap it all up. Might as well be TASS or Izvestia of the old Soviet Union. But this is supposed to the good 'ol USA. Sorry, pal. The "free press" is fake. We got freedom, baby! The fake freedom of a fake free press.

But now, all too often, the blogs are fake too. Do you remember the "Rather-gate" scandal? Dan Rather got caught red handed making stuff up. The blogger "Little Green Footballs" was in the lead in uncovering that scandal. Dan Rather got canned. What happened to Little Green Footballs? I checked, and it's out there. He might as well be as fake as Dan Rather these days. Somebody must be sponsoring his ass. No more independent citizen journalism for that guy. No more honesty either. Selling out to the almight dollar.

I've tried to run an honest blog. Not that I will ever turn dishonest to try to make a buck. If I can't make it honestly, I won't make it. That's why there will be NO exceptions! A blog ( and a blogger) isn't worth a damn if he's dishonest. His words are worth the paper they're printed on. ( Or more accurately, his words aren't worth the electrons that go up on his and your screen.)
