Illinois' Senate passed a law that required Trump to provide income tax returns, or be excluded from the ballot in the next Presidential election. The same law is being considered in 17 other states.
Okay. Let's combine this with the National Popular Vote compact, and what do you get? A guarantee that the Democrats win the popular vote and the Presidency. How?
Stop and consider how many votes in the blue states can be withheld from Trump. It would be in the millions. No chance at all for Trump to win the popular vote in such an event.
So, even if the President could win the majority of the votes, the participating states are going to try to rig it so that he cannot win.
A gimmick. Hopefully, this ought to demonstrate that the Democrats are not going to play a square game here.

Just a personal comment here. It is fine and dandy with me if the Democrat run states want to award their electoral votes NOW to the Democrat nominee in advance. Just don't call it an election.
If we had a real opposition party, instead of a bullshit party like the GOP, they would be doing this themselves.
Here are the Democrats doing this in the name of democracy. They are a bunch of liars.
