Clock running out

Comment:

Let's be realistic here.  The Mueller team has gotten another scalp as of yesterday.  Sydney Powell, who is now the legal representive for Admiral Flynn, says that the conviction won't hold up on appeal.  In other words, it is another faulty case brought by Mr. Mueller.

The point being that this is political.  If it achieves the political goal, then the legal goal was merely a stepping stone.  It leaves the accused with the problem, but the political march goes on the next step.  The political march is on the Trump Administration.  The legal process is being used as a political weapon, aka "lawfare".

The trial was held in Alexandria, which is near DC.  It is undoubtedly a strong point for liberalism, and therefore hostile to the defendant.  Contrariwise, it would be difficult to get a conviction in DC against one of their "faves".  This is a fact on the ground that cannot be underestimated.

What I am saying here is that the system is rigged in favor of Democrats.  The best that can be achieved here is a favorable political result.  That result would be if the Democrats LOSE BIG next year's elections.  The goal to "lock them up" will have to wait.  It may not occur at all if Trump loses.  That may be the point of the "lawfare".
